Do you love big bluegill?
only spent a few minutes fishing late this morning and tied up with a monster SMB. casting parallel to shore along the open rip rap in less than a foot of water with my UL 6' rod with 6# Nanofil loaded with a white Tabbert Jelly Jig i tied into this hog. spectacular fight! as i netted this beauty i knew it would be close to another citation fish (in Michigan you are allowed one certificate per species per year) at 20.6" is a trophy anywhere you go. The Jelly Jig has Big Fish swagger!

thanks Adam... these guys are transitional fish moving down from the shallow up river region to the deeper main lake basins... once the temps reach the 40's as they have now things really slow down. ... multiples are getting harder to come by and the fish are avg'ing a bit smaller. it was a great run... especially since i sized down with lighter jigs and thinner lines.
What a year you've had with the smallies. Keep 'em coming.
thanks Carl ... im still throwing the panfish baits and these preds keep getting in the way!
thanks Jeff!! i call it my home lake... great opportunity for some huge trophies ... .crappies, SMB's, walleye, white bass, and N.Pike...except the B'Gill they are few in numbers and lacking in size.
thanks Jim! i do feel fortunate and blessed when it comes to the local lakes... thats Michigan ... a bounty of fishing lakes and opportunity.
