Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

caught many fish on a school i found at the mouth of a feeder creek in about 10-12 ft water. proved to be smaller fish. hoping there was jumbos mixed in the school. then moved to a gravel flat near the dam and got a couple 8" class seed and a jumbo b gill but very scattered. using whats working for me right now drop shot and crawler and the sitka jig tipped with pink gulp maggot.

Me, I'm just glad to catch something. But I learn a lot from you and others!

In my situation .mostly White and Yellow Perch with lesser amounts of Bass and Gills and an occasional Crappie.

What I'm finding also the last three times fishing in my home lake .I've been catching real dinks for the most part with a few isolated decent fish each time .

i agree...ive found two very common cases the larger the fish are spread out and mid to smaller fish are more tightly bunched.

I've always understood that gills group by size. Smaller ones with smaller, etc.
It's tough this time of year, I guess, figuring out what and where for the big ones.
I like the way they stacked up at the shallow end of the creek channel.
