I live right next to a sweet lake with tons of rip rap and bridge pilings. abundant forage of shad and crawfish. I catch these a lot bass fishing.

Most of the Rock Bass in San Diego are about 7" or less and are very scarce. I have never seen one that big!

thanks Jeff and Bruce, I am really blessed to be provided with ideal structure and habitat for these guys so close to my residence. I'm still fishing for that elusive 12 inch wall hanger.

I was just astounded by the beauty of this fish. The deep red eyes the black tipping on the fin plus it's chunky size.
Lol John the bridge is to my left but was caught along the broken concrete rip rap.
