2012 Personal Best Yellow Perch.....Little River, N.C.

Locals were shocked last July when I caught my personal best perch....historically the largest and state record perch have been caught in late January and February....That's why I love fishing......the next cast can always yield a surprise!

Nice! I sure would like to get a hook in one of those! Can't find em around here.

Thanks John....the Yellow Perch fishery in North Carolina is still revered by few anglers......trophy fish are available during rather harsh conditions but I catch a few throughout the year while bluegill fishing and it's always fun. We were catching loads of Bluegill on this day back in July and I set the hook and to my surprise I had landed a beautiful Y.P. in brackish water relatively shallow and in the high 80s for temperature.....

Jason there are several Little Rivers in North Carolina....I fish and live close to the one in the Pasquotank River Basin in the Northeast portion of the state......
