LedHed, i believe it was 6", i had a 10'piece and it would bind on the saw pretty tight towards the end.  If you do try it maybe figure the length you want and cut it to the desired length first so the binding is not as bad.

Jim all fish released, there was 30+ of this caliber caught between two of us that im proud to say all went back. Vince I did make the fish ruler, its pvc pipe cut in half, works great! got a longer one in the boat that works great for walleye. Dean your correct on the basin bite, just not a deep one. Most fish were right in the weeds in 5-8fow, the fish did not come easy, drilled a easy 100+ holes trying to stay on them.
