Getting some Perch on bottom with jig/crawler piece.Wrist snapping spoons off bottom also. They are scavenging sand/pebble bottoms.

I dont know Charlie I am getting them in a lake shallow by inlets and midlake trolling  or in dock or tree cover near deeper water.

I'm thinking the Perch Spawn is done here in NE NJ.

I'm guessing still in/ towards the end of  spawning mode .The pipe is NOT the only outlet and I've caught Perch shallow near running water in a SE section  mid summer and been surprised .Not numbers like this though! Perch are usually deeper after Early Spring Spawn.

The thing that may make this inlet a major one is it's a NW warmer  inlet that's accesible by shore fishing ,and Spring is when the Perch use it most .I would have to access the other NW & NE inlets by boat which I can do but not sure they'd be as productive . The perch are probably there too but I have an undeniable honey hole I can fish for an hour from shore and it's down the street from my house. I really don't think the Yellow Perch are much bigger in the lake than the 8-10" I'm catching but in your area maybe my experience can be modified to bigger water and be of good use.

John does the pattern hold thru the warm water season or just in the Spring? Is the pipe the only inlet into the lake, or the major one? Have they spawned yet?

The Yellow Perch were very turned on by the pipe today .The town workers were releasing water from hydrants and a swift flow was the draw for over 30 YPerch 8"-10"-http://bigbluegill.com/photo/42011northeast-pipe-perch?context=latest

Sure thing  Charlie glad you like Perch. The  pipe is carrying rainwater from storm drains  .It's a small community lake I'm fishing . When there is a good flow from the pipe those Perch gather and are hungry.
