Big time hats off to Mr.Dick Tabbert whose recent timely  post about floating Jigheads reminded me to explore this Perch getter again after several years of negligence. I've been getting plenty of small Perch in my home lake with the split shot /Floating Jighead /Crawler piece but today i revisited a different lake and in 5-10' of water got  two, between 11-11.5"  using a Mr. Twister Floating Jighead,#6 hook tipped with a crawler . 3rd ,11.5" Perch took a small Nungesser soon tipped with crawler piece attached to a spinner rig  another favorite panfish rig.

Hoping to figure out where the numbers of Perch are at the lake I've been fishing most at . This one came out of the tops of the weeds in 8 ' of water and slammed this thinfin right at the boat .

Me and Arty Cole caught three Perch that  hit his #4 Mepps spinner and my split shotted crawlers . Suspended and on bottom in what I'm guessing was 15' outside some weeds . Feel foolish leaving them but I wasn't prepared with a cooler and ice for keeping and we wanting to search for Bass and Pickerel .Next week I'd like to go back, with cooler and ice,  and see if I can locate the Perch ,Gills and other pannies with crawlers on bottom and slip floating .

only one Perch yesterday , very shallow weeds

These fish were more like 26-30 feet deep .I hade the depth finder out today and my previous guess of 10-20' from a map was inaccurate
