Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Somebody was asking about Cricket patterns

I came across a youtube titled Hopper Candy and I adapted it to Crickets

Size 8 dry fly hook

Tan & brown craft foam

deer hair tail

Pretty simple and should be affective

Last year, I found a pattern called a "GFA Hopper", for a foam hopper pattern on Youtube.  It's not that different from what you have here.  I adapted the pattern I found for crickets, but going all-black.

That should work! I'm not sure if I like how the hook exits the foam though, might cause some hook up issues? Is it just the pic or does the lower foam cover the bend of the hook?

Lee,

The light tan is pierced through by the hook and rides at the bend of the hook...the dark brown is super glued to the top of the tan piece with the hair trapped inside

neat little cricket!

Very nice! If that don't work nothing will.
