Do you love big bluegill?
I live south of Altoona so I'll be fishing Lake Glendale at Prince Gallitzin State Park, or Canoe Creek Lake near Altoona, or Bald Eagle Lake up near Lock Haven.
Cool.you're further north than I thought. I'm just below the Mason Dixon Line...skim ice off and on so far and I'm juggling fishing different ponds and lakes from the shore, with some success on warmer days.
I've heard good things about Canoe Creek... ever fish it?
I've fished Canoe Creek Lake. It has trout, largemouth bass, pan fish, etc. It's a popular ice fishing lake, too.
up here in ny we have had lots of ice for quite some time now but the fishing has been kind of slow all over. i have had some good luck occasionally on some nice gill spots and i've fished all over, sodus bay, port bay, fair haven, oneida lake, cayuga lake...so i've been out a lot. problem now, is we have had too much snow and the walking is terrible so i will be limited to where i'll be going. the last place, wednesday on cayuga lake had to walk out about a mile to get to deep water channel...two of us and caught 30+ yellow perch but took us an hour to walk back in big snow drifts and tough walking....getting too old for this.
john
I hear ya John ,cant go far from the car the drifts can be up to my knees! 30+ perch is great though and you worked for them!
