Do you love big bluegill?
Here is my variation on a very popular pattern, the bream bully or bully spider. I like to weave the body , angle the legs back slightly, and make a head with black crystal chenille. It is a fly that has great action on the fall and retrieve. It's a great producer and one of my favorite patterns. Anyone else a fan of the bream bully?

I've tied and used Wilson's Bully Spider. It is my go to gill fly. I fish it under a strike indicator and have lots of success with it. I'll tie these up and give them a try too. Do you use any weight?
Mike, I tie some using lead around the hook shank but find that the slow fall of the unweighted ones is what they most often like.
Really!!?? It seems to me that the fly would be so light it would not float down. Wow i"ll try to tie some of those and see what happens; however, this time of year is so hot that everything in mid-day is down.
