Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I love to throw tiny cranks and always catch the biggest fish of the trip with them.

Anyone else use them as well? And what is your fav. crank?

Mine is a tie between the Yo-Zuri 2"Pins minnow and yo-zuri`s snap beans.

I have never thrown a tiny crankbait. Any tips?
Sorry about the lighting, these are the ones that go with me on every trip,I mainly use them smallmouth fishing but they catch bluegill too, I guess those bluegill are looking for an easy meal.  I use a 5ft. ,1piece Browning  Midas Touch rod with 4# test flourocarbon line.
I tried the Snap Bean and Rebel's Fly crank bait the other day without success.  Caught 9 bream on flies after getting skunked with the crank baits.  This was all from one spot however as I was fishing from shore.
Josh, I use a little crank-bait called the" Bitsey Minnow" by Strike King in the River, and It is TERROR on the Bream, also caught an 7lb Bass two years ago on it with my Ultri-Lite and 6 LB test line and took 20 minutes to tire him out----- Yep, He's on my Office Wall Also!!!!!!!!

 

LOF, in the picture, the last row on the right (3 plugs) is that one on the bottom a AC shiner ?  

   AC shiners are my all time fave, I've fished with them since childhood & have a bunch rat holed up for hard times, they aint easy to find and when ya do find'em they're about $8 or $9 a piece, the way I see it if ya cant catch a fish use'n a AC shiner... go home.

 

 If most of what is pictured hear is what ya'll are call'n ultra light crank baits I do have some but have never heard them called that.

   Sorry Johnny, those three  on the right are Rapalas, I'm still working on my photo lighting, so here they are again with some scale this time, and yes if you can't catch something on a baby rapala you might as well go home.
I'm using the bitsey Minnow by Strike King. works great and fun to use.
Strike King Bitsy Minnow in firetiger pattern has worked for me.
Silver and White is my favorite!!!!

This hot item is always a blast.

A back hook fish.Would like to see pics of Crank bait Gills !Like to know how they took the lure and how they were hooked  when landed .

 

Hey John...Last year was the first year that I did much crankin for panfish. Used the Bitsy Minnow and a # 5 Floating Rapala. They were big hits at Richmond Mill in the spring, but I caught fish back home and well into November on them. I put a split-shot about 12 inches ahead of the Rapala and fished it slowly like a tiny suspended jerk bait and did good in sub 60 degree water. Fish would have either hook, or both, especially if it was a big bluegill or hybrid sunfish over 10 inches.
