Tunnel between the two lakes

I swam there as a youth over 65 years ago. There were many a car driven over the cliff back then and those that landed on the old road bed drive beginning about 40 feet down were available for recovery, but, if they missed the old road, they were too deep to recover even by navy men in those deep steel helmeted divers outfits. Saw it happen many times. No telling how many cars and bodies are down there.

 Lower lake had a good place to wade out before dropping off but the big lake only had the old road bed and the rest dropped off no telling how deep.

 Clearest water I have ever seen.

 We used to be able to hold our breath long enough to go through a tunnel under the old road bed from one  lake to the other.

 Sure was dangerous.
