Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I checked my mail early this morning to see if my Lil Minnows had arrived.... nope, not yesterday.

So, I headed to my favorite fishing hole anyway. I tried several plastic lures and the bite was terrible this morning.

Then, I happen to think about a pack of Trout Magnet's in my tackle bag.  I slid one on a 1/64 jig... cast it out and instantly caught a 10" Bluegill. Smiling, I cast again and an 8" bluegill took off with it sideways.  I steadily caught over 25 fine fish and three LMB before I had to head back home.

The color of the Trout Magnet was BISON...  what a fantastic bluegill lure.

Got back home... checked the mailbox and my Lil Minnows came while I was gone fishing.

RIVERMAN;; IVE BEEN EXPERIMENTING WITH TROUT MAGNATES FOR AWHILE IN SEVERAL DIFFERENT COLORS;;; YOUR ONTO A NICE BAIT !!    ALSO;; BY ADDING A VERY SMALL SPINNERBLADE;; SOMETIMES INCREASES THE BITES; ESPECIALLY FROM BASS !   GET THOSE FROM WAL MART !

I read on crappie.com over and over that the Bison color was the best on bluegill, and I believe it after today.

Congrats Riverman!... every bluegill fisherman loves success stories like this! This always triggers the in-fisherman equation F (Fish) + L (Location) + P (Presentation) = S (Success) in my head. We fishermen nowadays put a lot or more emphasis on just the bait rather than the fisherman his location and the presentation. Give yourself more credit than the bait! You know your target fish, you were on a good spot and gave them a great presentation! Good fisherman put it all together and it looks like you did just that.
