Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

JUST RETURNED FROM A TRIP TO FORT WORTH TEXAS. SPENT TWO WEEKS SEARCHING OUT BIG BLUEGILL AND CRAPPIE. FOUND UTOPIA IN A COMMUNITY LAKE OR POND IN GRANBURY TX. SMALLEST CRAPPIE 10" , LARGEST BLUEGILL 11 1/2". I USED SOME OF THE BLUEGILL FLY PATTERNS I LEARNED FROM BIG BLUEGILL SITE. IT TURNS OUT THIS LAKE WAS THERE LONG BEFORE THE COMMUNITY WAS BUILT AND NO ONE FISHES IT. GREAT FUN. THERE ARE SOME LARGE BASS IN THIS LAKE AS WELL. COUGHT A COUPLE ON OF ALL THINGS THE OLD RELIABLE TROUT MAGNET. LOOK FORWARD TO GOING BACK.  SCOTTY

Thanks Hugh. I found the lake on a map. It looks as if there is at least some public access.

DID YOU TRY THE GRANBURY LAKE YET? MY SON CALLED AND SAID THE BIG CRAPPIE ARE BITING LIKE CRAZY. HE LIVES IN GRANBURY. HE SAID THE TEMP. HAS DROPPED THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS SO HE HASN"T BEEN BACK TO THE POND YET. REGARDS, SCOTTY
I have not made it yet. My wife and I share a vehicle and she keeps it pretty busy in the holiday season.
Have never gone there - Seems like every 2 or 3 years they have a huge fish kill from algae due to hot weather so didn't figure there would be any fish of size in it
No pictures?
TOOK PICTURES, BUT THERE ON A THROW AWAY CAMERA AND I HAVEN'T DEVELOPED THEM YET. SORRY. WILL UPDATE
I have not had much success in TX like I have experienced in Ark. & LA. Glad to know somewhere close to the Metroplex to find them.
