How deep are you fishing? I dont know a thing about your lake but its late in the summer patterns where often fish are deep and sometimes ignore baits unless its live and matching the prevelent food source.I dont have much to offer you but hopefully I gave you a little piece of your puzzle.
Its been a strange season Michael, bluegills have become dis-placed due to an unseasonably cold summer however, they are still in the lake......search for suspended fish in deep water within close proximity to deep weed lines......If your normal approach is falling short, try chuckin' 1/8-1/5oz spoons tipped with your favorite live bait.
The "bigger" gills this last couple of weeks I've got in deeper waters and near the bottom...not saying the pads don't have em but that the percentage of the gills "in the pads" seem to be smaller...big guys I found, are out deep....at least the lakes I've been fishing up here in northern Minnesota....certainly could be different in different parts of the country....I've hooked em on swedish pimples with a "chunk" of nightcrawler on the treble in the deeper waters...also a lone #10 hook under a pencil bobber(or just drop the line over the side of my canoe with no bobber in deeper water) and a splitshot...also an 1/8 oz. floating rapala in the pads....and even a plain 1/32 oz. white maribou jig.....these all worked...also hooked into a few last week with my flyrod but no "biggies".....as I said the big gills were deeper, not surface feeding....
I have struggled the last few times out at my favorite lake, managing but a few keepers that eventually went back because I couldn't catch enough for a meal. I think I am going to hit a local pond that has a high population of 'eaters' i.e. 7 1/2 to 8 inchers, and is shallow with weedy cover.

The big hybrids I have caught recently have all been 'deep' fish and most on live worms with a handful on the Swede #5. Good Luck!
well our weather down in the se ga parts have really sucked this year. i have never remembed of having so much rain. the las time i was able to get ouy i only caught one red ear.
Most of the fish i have been catching lately have been deep water on the bottom. With all the rain lately and how hot its been they have just been stuck to the bottom.
same here . i caught a few eaters today shallow but there were whole schools of big gills out deeper in 10 15 ft. only got one to bite, then i had to go:-(
