Targeting 'gills or any other fish species impossible

Big lures usually exclude small fish from striking. Small lures can large and small fish of all species. Most lakes I've fished this year has produced yellow and white perch, crappie, bass, sunfish and pickerel. Lure size - hard or soft plastic lures - is smaller than 3". Soft plastics were rigged on 1/16 oz or lighter jigheads. In three days I caught 190 fish which included small and large fish.

This 2.5 lb bass was caught in 3' near pads. All fish were caught on small lures - including small crankbaits.
