Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

After looking at that big ol' Green sunfish X Bluegill hybrid Bruce had posted, I had to start digging around for the photos of the hybrids I caught at Clear Lk. a few years ago.

Undoubtedly the prettiest sunfish I've ever caught !  :)

Only caught 1 like this.... Bluegill X Redear ???

Beautiful fish though, huh ?

Peace,

Fish

PS, I have to agree that the 2 lb "Bluegill" that I caught along with the 3.2 Redear, was almost certainly not a pure Bluegill. So, since I have caught some nice, big, pure Bluegill up to 1lb 10oz, from there, I guess I just need to go back and stick a straight up, pure-bred "2lb Bluegill" ! Right ?  :)

This is a similar fish. It was caught in a Maryland tidal cypress swamp where the water is coffee colored.

I assumed this is a green sunfish-bluegill hybrid. In the last 12 months I have caught maybe 100 sunfish, but have never seen a single green sunfish in the area.

Right! If anybody can do it, it's you, buddy. :-)
Chris...did you post a picture of the 2 pound 'gillcracker'?
