slip stinker;; one small diameter pvc pipe;; into a larger diameter one will make a roller;; some angle iron; connected to the larger one; also driven into the ground if possible;; would make for a excellent roller for you;; if possible; would even be permanent...  lay it on the roller;; a gentle push;; it will take off!!

Carl thanks for the tips ... but what i was actually trying to do is gain access with my kayak close to the bridge just a short walk from my house. this gives me closer paddling access to the lake north of the bridge.the only thing is you have to launch over the large cast concrete slabs that tear up the bottom of plastic yaks. i just made a simple construction of 1.5 " PVC as runners over the rough concrete to protect the bottom of the kayak that was getting tore up with each cumulative launch. to protect the bottom of the yak i was doing to much bending and lifting so this may help out a bit with that. im testing it out later today.

Carl here's what my setup looks like now. i have it strapped to a dolly... rolls nice and easy and weight is balanced nicely for ease of lifting. probably 5-7 lbs at front if that. i could balance to 0 but is annoying when pulling. like walking the dog.

20150830- after exploring the weedy flats as a very productive pattern for me this past summer... fish populations have been greatly reduced by migration out to the main lake body. so im putting a dropshot rig together that will explore the weedy sections of the lake but in the 6-10 foot range. im going to the dropshot rig with a circle hook and a thin barrel weight to penetrate the weedy domain. looking for a few hogs over the 9" range.

20150830- here's a snap of Earl's Bonus Master Angler Yellow Bullhead...

locating the original lakes edge of this little reservoir at 9-0' with the sonar i pulled the jon boat out into the deep drop off at 22-0' the first break was still within casting distance and Earl concentrated on presenting the drop shot and crawler near and hitting that first break at 9-0' FOW. he caught many jumbo B'Gills before tagging this trophy Yellow Bullhead. Its a great feeling when you can put your guests (especially family!) on big fish especially a fish of a lifetime! Congrats Earl!

i have never seen a yellow Bullhead of this proportion in my whole career of fishing. the closest one to this was caught by a good friend 20140720 of last year. this day was a 100 fish per angler day and the fish sat at 12.5. at the time i thought Master Angler was at 12"

nice John!...

Thanks Slip. Took a hot dog chunk.

looking over the DNR Master Angler database there has only been one other fish of this proportion caught in Gladwin county in the past 15 years

20150830- So I had a generous offer to take my boat out on the local lake yesterday during some great weather. I jumped on it! Sure a different feeling having all the electronic
conveniences as well as an outboard motor to fish with for a change. We launched
the boat in the midst of a huge flying ant hatch with calm water and a temp of
74 degs. Perfect! We positioned the boat in our first spot and started
dropshotting crawler bits and pink waxies. Once in awhile the variable light
winds would stir and deposit the flying ants on the surface of the water. Fish
started feeding everywhere on the surface! It was a Problem at first since we
were fishing on the bottom. After things settled we started catching fish on the
drop shot again with crawlers out producing waxies at first. Earl then tagged his
bonus Trophy Yellow Bullhead of 14.5” awesome fish!! It’s a great feeling when
you can put guests (especially family) on fish particularly trophy once in a
lifetime fish!
Many B’Gills and P’Seeds between 7.5” and tops at 9.5” crappies to 12.2”. we
wanted to continue into more of the night with the rising full moon but my arm
started aching and giving out… so had to pack it in. what a great outing!
