Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Sewage overflow killing fish in my local fishing creek

Hi everybody lately I have found a new honey hole in Missouri. I used to catch tons of fish an upwards of 40 in under an hour. Then everything went bad I couldn't figure out what had happened. When I got home on the news it said that there had been a sewage overflow a couple days before. I don't want to make it a big deal but if you could shoot a message to the MSD and tell them so that they can figure out a way to stop this. Sorry kinda a weird thread but if you could help me out that would be great and please don't mention fishing if you do call just fish dieing and stuff along those lines thanks

Not to be to technical, sewer systems were designed to handle only a certain amount of sewage at a time, when a big rain comes it leaks into the sewer system through leaks in the wall or through the manhole opening because the lid is lower than the standing rainwater in the ditch, this is called " Infiltration" and it causes the treatment plant to treat all the ground water in the system to be treated like sewage, and with a substantial rain entering the system it overwhelms the system and the only way a sewer system can deal with the situation is to open  the system which allows raw sewage to pollute our streams and rivers, which kills our fish and creates an unhealthy enviroment. Hepititus and Menigitus  are only a few of the diseases that can be spread by these waters.I have actually been to St Louis to identify and remedy some of these problems, but it's up to the local goverment to solve these problems. The best thing you can do is help is bring this problem to light, call the Board of Health, the EPA  ,Dept. of Natural Resources  and your local press to make others aware of the dangers to health and wildlife.  LOFR
