interesting Dick... are they heavy enough to cast with an ultra light spinning or is this just for fly fishing?

Ken I would say they would be a little hard to cast on a U/L spinning but not impossible although you wouldn't get much distance. My shrimp I put 2 on still not a lot of distance but enough I caught quit a few fish. I never added split shot but I guess the option would be there if I needed more distance.

Hi Guys... I've fished Scuds just like these under a slip float... but to make sure I get the Scud on the bottom I don't use a Stop Knot... Just let the jig hit Bottom and keep the line as tight as possible. Bites register very nicely...  It can be hard to fish this way if it's very windy but works good when it isn't... And you can get your casting distance nicely too...
