These were all caught June thru October. Mostly in streams and Rivers.Some bigger ones in lakes.

I agree that they are more aggressive and tend to be higher in the water column during June thru October. Right now we are catching a lot of them on or near the bottom from about 6 - 10 feet deep. During the summer I have caught a lot closer to the surface.  F3 floating Rapalas and teeny floating cranks work pretty good too. right now I am just using worms. I am in south Texas so the water temps are already in the upper 50's and lower 60's.
thanks ive been trying in local creeks and swamps here in north carolina caught 1 or 2 but not very active. im going to try the lakes also and fish a little bit deeper again thanks for the tips guys
