Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Anyone know how to calculate pond temperature at the bottom of a pond? For instance, if the temperature at the top of the pond is 84, and the air temperature is 100, what would the temperature be at the bottom of a 10' pond?

I don't know how to calculate that. It would depend on where the thermocline and at what depth. Should be around 55 Degrees at that point anywhere. anytime of the year, but you have to know where that depth is..I think........I am ........Not sure........Bruce a little help here
Is the air temperature rising or falling?  Is the water clear or muddy?  Too many variables to calculate, just tie a string on a themometer and let it sit on the bottom for a few minutes.  Don't even need a calculator!
Only have a digital thermo. It can't be immersed.

There are too many variables with wind, sun, and water input, the only way to tell is with a thermometer, you can get a digital thermometer with a 10 ft. probe from walmart for about 12bucks, mount that to a long pole and you can take readings at different areas and depths.

Thanks Larry. I'm off to walmart to find one.
I use the thermometer I got for  photography class.  It's made for getting wet.  Tie it to a string and dangle it in the water.
