Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Got a pond full of these + giant water beetles. If someone knows what these bugs are I would appreciate it so I can make a fly to try and match the hatch.I have a pond full of these.

I knew I had bugs but not so many. Plus 1000's of bullfrog tad poles.

HERE'S THE PIC DICK HOPE YA LIKE IT

THERE ARE THREE OR FOUR BEETLE PATTERNS much like this one but it approximates you insects pretty close buddy and if you need other patterns or pics just let me know .......

TOOTY

Thanks Tooty looks like a good place to start for reference if nothing else but I think I can see lots of material there. It looks like the basic fetchers anyway. I'm going to make an attempt at it will post my good, bad , and of coarse the ugly which will probably be the biggest part of the post. Again thanks buddy

CAN'T WAIT TO SEE EM DICK !!!!!

I think it actually turned out pretty good. Went about it different cause I like lifelike bugs if I can achieve it.

Look like dragonfly nymphs to me!  Not sure what species.  I'm sure the gills love them, though.

Thanks StormCoat that's the way I'm leaning after looking at 100's of pictures. The only thing that bothered me is they seem so small I think the biggest one was about a 1/4 inch.

Remember, Dragonflies have been in the adult phase all Summer.  These could be the young-of-the-year offspring, and would be small.

Thanks Allen makes sense.

Sold in bait shops as "Thunder bugs".  Dragonfly nymph.  Fierce little meat eaters.

Thanks Badgerloader for your input, I guess all that's left for me to do as the master said tie one.

Those sure look like dragonfly nymphs which should become flying insects next year, page down on the page on this link:  http://mybackyard.info/backyardblog/?p=124
