Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Anybody got any thoughts on this nanofil line?  I've always favored my 2 or 4lb Trilene XL with a fluorocarbon leader.  Was just curious if anyone had any experience or opinions about it.  Tight Lines and Screamin Drags to Ya!!!!

I have heard about it, but I have not used it yet.  Suppose to be super thin, almost ribbon-like and you need to use certain knots with it.  Here is a helpful article about Berkley Nanofil:

I bought some a while back and I cant get over how little memory it has.  I haven't had a chance to do anything with it yet.  Im thinking it might be good for when Im throwing jigs for crappie in the summer time or working weed edges with light jigs for gills.....    Ive always liked the mono so I don't know.

I have used it since it came out. Fishing 5 days a week...52 weeks a year you can get a years worth of fishing out of it. I have it in 2#...3#...4# and even some 1# test. I love it. Fishing the Trout Magnet I can out cast any mono line on the market by 30 percent or better. You have to use either a double palomer knot or I use the Fish'n Fool knot when I tie directly to the lure...but most of the time I will have either 2# or 3# test fluorocarbon leader on. Gills are not shy of NanoFil....I use the fluro for abrasion resistance....even when I use mono. You will find after a hard week or so of fishing the line will look like it is frayed 4 feet or so up the line.  All I do is watch it and trim that part off. I have never lost a fish because of the fraying...it looks worse than it actually is. But if you don't use the proper knot when tying directly to your lure it will slip....NanoFil is some slick line. It is all I use for crappie fishing and I use it for 95% of my Gill fishing.  If you are looking for incredible casting distance and exceptional feel....virtually no memory....it is the way to go.
