Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I setup this video to record an outing like the trip previous where I was slamming the panfish on the Lil Minnow… I got to my spot the fish were there and but not as responsive… just nipping the tail. So I downsized the bait to eliminate the tail. Stuck a Pink Waxie on some ice style jigs and it was instant success. 9-10 fish from 7 - 9" a short 20 min less time frame. Gliss on the UL fast action rods got me the distance to pitch these jigs. I also position the boat and use the wind to my advantage…. O distance when casting these offerings against a stiff wind.

Nice video love seeing masters at work.

thanks Dick!... master?... nah...  just so much to explore and learn... im constantly tweaking... if something works for me i like to share... there is so much info out there on micro jigging it's tough to sort it out... one thing i know for sure the smaller i go with the equipment and bait my catch rate along with quality goes up

I liked the video. micro jigging for panfish. I was wondering what rod you are using with the Shimano rear drag reel?

Thanks John!... one of my favorite set-ups for Long-Casting/Tiny Jigs… I currently have it in review in the group PATTERN-RIGGING-PRESENTATION FOR BLUEGILL in the discussion… LONG-CASTING/TINY JIGS 5-6’ UL SET-UP
