Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I finally took the plunge and used a spoon for gills. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I had hits on almost every cast. I was fishing below a spillway at the lake where I live. I tipped the BF spoon with a butterworm and had a blast. I learned about this site and the spoons from Mod. I also had a few crappie, but the gills killed the thing. I have a couple pictures on my phone and will attempt to post later. I had two humpheads to boot!

I was using a Blue Fox Flash Spoon yesterday and caught a few gills also.I switched to a 1" firetiger Rapala later on after I almost lost the spoon to a snag.I didn't tip my spoon though just fished it plain .I'm going again tomorrow and will try some others,Kastmaster and a Daredevil.

I gave the spoon thing a brief shot yesterday as a record cold front came through. No results, but I am going to try it soon, maybe Wednesday, at Piney Run after work for some of the pounders we have had the joy to catch this month on worms. I know where some fish are in 7 to 10 ft of water.
Hey the spoons really work good!!! Musky Mod is right on top of things with his Spoons techniques!!! I've been attaching mine tied directly to the main line (you probably would have more action by using the way Musky recommends) with a tiny bit of gulp crawler on the treble for scent!!!
So I took my wife out tonight for just a few minutes before AI. She had fish on her first 7 casts with a 1/16th oz. BF spoon. All she said was OMG! Also, I fished for a few minutes at lunch today with CJ&S lightning spoon and not only caught gills, I had 2 carp!! What a blast!!!
