Well, I got up kind of late, Linda made breakfast and gave me the go-ahead to cruise up to a small public lake in PA. Got there about 9 and fished hard with slip-sinker/worm rigs on the bottom. Hadn't done well here the past 3 trips after catching as many as 35 9 inchers in a morning along with several 10's.
Tried spoonin with the #3 Pimple w/ worm and couldn't get any action. Had a bait rod out and started to pick up some nice fish around 10:15 am. Totaled 9 gills. all males. from 9 to almost 10 inches by 11:45.
Nice fish...found them on a 6 ft deep flat a long cast from the shore surrounded by deeper water. I finally decided to keep a few for the pan and hope to fry em up soon. Ate lunch out with Linda, good day all around!
Yes, Dick. A high percentage of my fishing , 90 plus, is done from shore. If you fish alot of smaller lakes and ponds like I do, then bank fishing is the only option when no ramps or boating is allowed.
