Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I'm new to fly tying, and i was wondering if there were any tips or secrets or shortcuts to fly tying and or it's materials that can help me out or just be good to know along the way.

Ya know Chris I read all the comments on this and they are all right on the money !!!!!!! Dale is exactly right and my only advice is , after 25 years of tying, KEEP IT SIMPLE !!!!!! I started out making foam spiders and in my book are still one of the simplest and deadly flies to tie. WHen you can tie one of those little bodies on a hook and it doesn't twist around the hook shank , when you tighten the thread , then you got the idea of how much tension to put on the thread . Later on when you start dreaming up your own creations and catching fish on em you'll be hooked for life........
