Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Today while going through some boxes out in my garage I came across a great find.  A March 2007 issue of "In-Fisherman" magazine.  Although it's a few years old, it has a great article written by BigBluegill's Jim Gronaw titled  "In Pursuit of Humpheads - Strategies for Magnum Bluegill & Other Sunfish".   Try to find this issue and check it out.  An informative read, and yes Jim, I am impressed!  Do you have more Bluegill/panfish articles published?

For all interested parties -- you can google this article and read it on the In-Fisherman website.  I just copy and pasted the title into the Google search bar.  Thanks for the heads up Jeff!  I find myself re-reading all of my old fishing magazines too.  In fact, I don't think I've ever thrown one away.

Adam-

Jim Gronaw is a terrific advocate for fishing, panfishing, and conservation in general.  We appreciate his contributions immensely.  He also happens to be a really good person.

Awww, shucks guys....thanks!

In 1983, I had my first article for In Fisherman published entitled Springtime Pond Bluegills. I believe the 2009 Panfish InSider had a re-write of the hump head piece. Did 'Winter panfish...and Hold the Ice' for them in 2006. Have had a bunch of them published over the past 35 years for regional, local and national periodicals.

Thanks for all the kind words, but it's not about me, it's about that great panfish called the bluegill.

I've been an In-Fisherman subscriber since the early 80's.......Best fishing mag around, hands down!

This publication has tooled me into the fisherman I am today. I've followed Jim's work for several years, and have always found his contributions to be spot on.......after joining this site a few years back, I was immediately humbled by his presence.

It truly is an honor to have you here, along with all the other "heavy hitters" associated with BBG.com
