Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Many of the bg's I've caught in the last few days seem to me to be lighter in color.  Do they change color with the seasons?  We've had several days of cool nights and days - it's fall, after all.  Or is there some other reason for lighter colored fish?

Great post! Yes the colors do change with the seasons .Click on photos and compare  the dates  and pics. Always tag your photos! Be sure to notice the region of the country the fish were caught  too.Temperature and mood  I believe will dictate the color as well.Color of fish belies what they need and want .Bright color males attract females for spawning .Lower oxygen in winter will show purple shades. Black  shows aggression.Just my unofficial observations  through the years .

It is more blending in just like Deer do and every other animal out there .It is a tuff world.
