Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Anyone taking the front split ring off the crank baits and using something like the Arnold Speed Clips for faster change outs? I know tying directly is best, though sometimes changing out baits is necessary.

I really like the clips for ice fishing… knots are really tough to tie out on the ice with cold hands. I continued using them till the beginning of the summer season last year casting the ultra light jigs then I switched out to the smallest Eagle Claw 01034 with the barrel swivel in the bright finish. I would cut off the barrel with cutters and use just the snap.

It added this bright little flash ahead of the jig that the fish found pleasing so ive been hooked on those for open water. The snap on the swim jig also adds a realistic rocking motion to the action of the minnow bodies when using the 2” power minnow. Now I leave the snap on all the time for open water. Ice fishing I still use the clips.

CRAIG; I NEVER HAVE TOOK THE SPLIT RINGS OFF A CRANK BIAT; JUST CLIPPED ONTO IT WITH A SPEED CLIP;; WORKED GREAT THAT WAY TO;; ALSO IT LEAVES THE SPLIT RING; IN CASE I JUST WANT TO TIE DIRECTLY TO IT

How strong are those speed clips?
I did order a package of the small ones to test out.
