Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

He decided to go fishing at the last minute, but we're betting 13-year old Travis Jackson of Rocky Mount, North Carolina is glad he went. He landed a 4-pound 15 ounce redear sunfish from a private pond in Edgecombe County. Travis' whopper breaks the fourteen year state record by six ounces. Courtesy North Carolina WRC

What a fish. About two french fries short of five pounds. I'd like to see more pictures if and when they become available. Thanks a lot for adding that photo, Teeg.
I wish it wasn't so dried out and gnarly looking in the photo. Imagine how gorgeous that thing would have been, first out of the lake, dripping with water - glossy, strong and full of life.
You're right. That's a good excuse for carrying a good camera. I would have been thrilled to take a great photo and then release it. Image what Cabela's or Bass Pro would have paid for that alive!
wow! what a monster fish, that would have been a great catch, click, and release!
