Hey Booger, I would be honored to be your friend.
I wanna see your bluegill boat.

How did you know I couldn't fish. I don't have too, I grow them.

When I was little kid you used to scare me. Not any more.

Why is it bass fishermen have "bassboats" and bluegill fisherman don't have "Bluegill Boats" with cricket boxes and a deep fryer built in the boat?

Bruce is the MAN. We couldn't have gotten to fish without my Twin Troller boat, but without a "Bruce" lesson I would been watching him catch fish all afternoon.

Good idea about limited a certain person's "semi-private" discussion.

:-)

I've been watching from afar because my "pooter" has been on the fritz. I think I'm finally back in action.

I'll take care of it.

The wire eye goes on the bottom, I use a o-ring instead of a rubber band to attach the line a little over half way up the quill , and use enought shot to balance the quill to stand up.
As for The Bear, not going to Alabama was a big a big mistake, but tried to please my Dad by going to his school, my line coach was jimmy johnson, what a A- HOLE

I'm pulling for Bama over Gators , They CHEAT.

We are just outside the GSM NP near Whittier. Lots of trout left, I offer them little or no danger.

Boo man, yes I rig my line with porcupine quill, it's the most sensitive strike indicator there is, it's also my depth finder, because when it's laying on it's side on top of the water I know Im on bottom and I quickly shorten the distance between quill and float to put it at the correct depth, now as for casting, I shorten my cast to 25 feet because the cricket on the hook won't take the abuse of normal casting. Gently cast quill and cricket toward bream and hold on, after a little practice you can catch fish without the quill going under. when there just licking it, split shot should be 6 to 8 inches above a number 6 or 8 long shank hook, I prefer the no.8 wire hook because if I get hung up all I have to do is pull on the flyline and the hook will straighten out and release, I like my quills to stick up above the water 2 to3 inches and I paint the tops with a floresent orange for better visibality. I used this tecnique for over 40 years and it's almost as effective as a net. Another benefit of this type of fishing with a quill is once you run out of crickets and take the quill off and put on a bug or popper you are now a blackbelt with the flyrod, it's a wax on , wax off kind of thing. Hope this clears things up for you I know I have caught tons of bluegill like this,Good Luck P.S. The Bear wanted me to come to Bama and play football for him,a long time ago

Well Leon, crickets is the best advice I got for you. If you want to learn other methods, go to the discussion tab up top and start reading backwards through them. All kinds of questions, all kinds of answers. The Blog tab is where you ramble on just to hear yourself talk. Not much discussion on it but some good reading. Groups get into details in specific ways. Some are real active and some are on slow movin' if you know what I mean. Have a go at any of it and post some questions or answers. If you ask any questions that I can answer, hold on. Mine won't be like the sane answers you get.

Thank you for the welcome, I look forward to visiting this site - most of my buddies think bluegill fishing is not worth the time - I enjoy catching and eating bluegillbut even after all these years, I haven't learned the art of catching big onessss.

My Daddy!! DanG that feller! I'm still trying to teach that boy how to grow hair on his head.
That must be perplexin', having those bream run and hide like that. I have to be real quiet when I get near the water, if I want to go fishing. I'm so handsome that they keep jumping in the boat. I tried to put the boat in last week and the ramp got so loaded with fish I almost didn't get the truck out, so I decided to bank fish. Like to have got thrown in jail. Seems the bank don't like that too much.
