Hey Dale, thanks for the comment. There are lots of shellcracker that size in that pond, and there will be some sizably bigger than that within a year or two as I just started working with it again after living in L.A. for ten years. The owner is letting me run guided trips on the pond (it's six acres, good-sized pond), and I also have several other smaller ponds nearby that I guide on, so if you ever want to head down to TN, I can put you on some big sunfish.
Dale go to www.flyanglersonline.com They have step by step instructions for tyer. The also have a lot of good patterns from beginners to experianced tyers.
Sorry for the late return depends on time of the year and conditions of the water. Early in the spring here in Nebraska when the gills are spawning we use floating spiders near the beds and later in the season wooly worms and in the fall we found that the carp tease works great.
I don't know, I suppose it's possible. My grandmother on my fathers side remarried so have had little contact with the Beauchamps except my own brothers and sisters.
for ice fishing i use a couple of $10 Schooley's with spring bobbers and i have a couple Rapala spinning outfits.
for open water i use 6', 6 1/2' light action rods in graphite, composite and even fiberglass on the slip float rig. Looking to buy a 7 footer.
The fish in pic #9 are 8.5 inch bluegill. There is snow on top of the ice. When you catch them, toss 'em in a pile. They flip around a little and cover themselves in the snow.
Hey Dale...the fish are...1,chain pickerel, 38-channel catfish, 53-striped bass @ 17 lbs, and 56 is a 46 lb 10 oz blue catfish that my son got out of the Potomac River. The blue net in question is a 'keep net' that fits inside a 5 gal bucket and keeps bluegills lively or on ice.
Hi Dale, I got your message last night. I cannon call you today. I work a 24 hour shift and will be home tomorrow.

Awhile back, Bruce Almighty (aka Bruce Condelo) had a contest for kids with prizes for winners. He hoped to raise money I think to pay for the prizes by selling a few BBG.com logo items. I tried to take the test but it was too hard for Boogiemen. Some kids passed it though.
Anyway, go to his blog, BIG BLUEGILL SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST and the link for gear is on there. I tried puttin' it here but this is what happened. http://shop.cafepress.com/design/32371654
when you'r on turn up your chat volume. this is what you do, go to the top of the page, click chat on the right (its on the menue bar) then when you get there put up the volume which is next to the smilie face, and the computer volume because the beep is very soft. this is because if someone trys to talk to you the chat volume is on mute you wont know they are there. if you want to talk to someon just copy and paste this message.
We fish Black Lake, NY the first weekend of June. Gills are just finishing spawning and on the bite. The lake is shallow and dark, so water warms early there. Will have to wait til spring to check temps when we go again. Will let you know.
