Do you love big bluegill?

NEW CONTEST!!!! Bluegill Bling just in Time for Spring!!!!!

What's that you say? You didn't get what you really wanted for Christmas, You've easily broken half of your new year's resolutions already, and your team lost the Super Bowl? Not to mention that the weather stinks, you're unable to go fishing, and you've already organized that durn tackle box so many times that the plastic hinges snapped off?"

"Well you've come to the right place guys and gals, because you KNOW bigbluegill.com puts a smile on your face! And now we're gonna' give you the chance to put some new bugs in that broken down tackle box of yours, too!

BBG member Tooty wants to give away some of his infamous and deadly, hand tied Bluegill bugs....and we're going to help him do it! The rules are simple.....we all know that Big Bluegill Rocks.....now I want to know WHY you think so!

Tell us your favorite thing about BBG.com.....what do you like the most.....anything at all. There are no wrong answers here, and everybody that responds will be entered in a drawing for Tooty's bugs. It's just that simple. Mods and their families are not eligible to participate but everyone else is, so what are you waiting for! Believe it or not, spring is just around the corner and those big gills' are gonna be hungry.......they're gonna' want to chow down, and this box is just what you need to set out the buffet. So let's hear it......don't be shy, share what you like about BBG with all of us:....................

The contest starts NOW, and will run until Saturday, Feb. 16th, at 7:00 pm. At which time I will collect the names of everyone who entered and have one of my kids draw a winner....provided I don't get eaten by a giant HBG before then............ let's all be sure to thank Tooty for his generosity, and give a shout out to the man who makes this whole BBG thing possible also.....Dr. Bruce Condello!

The thing that brought me here was the name of the site. I have chased gills since I was a kid. Since I have gotten here I have been pleasantly surprised by the lack of ego that is apparent on many sites. I also have signed up for a few of the groups that peaked my interest. I still am struggleing to navigate and I am sure that I will like the site even more as I become familiar. There seems to be a great bunch of guys hanging around. I must say that I tried to sign up for the Carp site but I have not been approved yet. I guess they are doing a background check on me.

All you new members.....here's your chance to get in on the action, don't be shy now.....tell us why you decided to join BBG, and what you think of it so far!

Oops... I screwed up guys! Tooty wanted this contest to run a little longer, and I intended to list the end date as Saturday, Feb. 23rd...not the 16th! I'm sorry for the confusion, but we've actually got another week to go. I checked my notes, and I have the correct date in the rough draft, but somehow I got it wrong on the listing.

Sorry everyone! Entirely my fault.

So... Tony, did one of your kids pick a winner in the contest?  Like everyone else, I'm curious who got their name drawn.

Lots of great insight into the hearts and souls of our members....a few themes seem common to many....looks like Bruce has created something very special with BBG.

But then again, we already knew that didn't we!

It's hard to say something that hasn't been said! The people here are so nice, generous, and helpful, the content and the fish people catch are amazing, and i can't get enough of it!

The thing I like best about Bluegill Big Bluegill it's not Bass Big Bass!  Thanks Bruce for those Nebraska Christmas gills, they were delicious, and give Kudos to Tooty  for his prized flies, , those spiders look so good I could eat one myself.    LOFR

I love the camaraderie, knowing there are so many like minded fisherman so willing to share.  I love catching fish any kind of fish, now bass, that's a real man's fish, macho all the way. In a casual conversation I might say I was a bass fisherman. Here I don't have to keep the secret in the closet, I love catching bream! When I joined the site I thought there wasn't much to learn then I saw some of your catches and learned a few new things. I tied your flies and swapped some flies with others.  I posted some pictures of my work and was encouraged.  Your comments, stories and photos entertain me, and while entertaining they inspire me to get out tie flies, build rods, and fish, not sit in front of the TV/computer. This site is full of helpful people, questions are answered without bashing. I would love to share a boat or bank with some of you.
