Do you love big bluegill?

i would like to find out what flies work well for bluegills

i have been fly fishing for 60yrs but am still looking for a great fly

I use woolly buggers, cypert minnows, cap spiders and any type of trout fly whether it be a dry, wet, nymph, streamer, san uan worms etc. Bluegill feed mostly on insects in the water, just like trout, that is there main source of food.

When I flyfish for gills, I have found that a black ant pattern that I can buy from either Wal Mart or K Mart works well for me.  The gills seem to tear them up.  Nick Holt.
