Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Last year I decided to take of the barb of all my hooks because, I think is the better way to take my kids fishing. Since that time I don't see differences in the quantity of fish that I can't catch. So what do you think?

I debarb all my hooks and have never noticed loosing any more fish I actually think it makes for a better hookset with less pressure needed.

I have a grandson whos 7 that I take fishing regularly he mostly fish's with Beetlespins, small jigs and small plastic worms ( he's a fish catching son of a gun too :) ) I make Sure All his hooks have the barb mashed after a certain Pawpaw hooking incident!

patricia; i have also been removing the barbs on hooks for years. i might loose one every now and then; but hey; its fishing! you cant catch all of them all the time!  its one of those things that keeps us coming back!

Patricia, I have been debarbing my hooks since I started tying my own flies!!!!! Easier to get the hook out of the fish and out of my EAR!!!!! Stay with it!!!!!!
