I get it thanks .Fish while you sleep without having to tie the line to your toe . This video suggests you tie to a flexible limb so as to have some leeway with a big and strong fish like a whopper Catfish . "The flexible limb acts as a shock absorber" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAz0zM-Jxy0  David your yo yo's look like the 2nd style shown in the video @ 3:22  These  remind me of ice fishing tip ups or traps .

Those things are popular down south. Don't see them too often up here. If you're after numbers, they would probably do the trick.

Well maybe I better reline it with 15#....
And pray.

I reckon they've been around for a good while, so they many be at least fun, and maybe downright useful.

our law says we can have 20 apiece ,but we have to stay with them ,within earshot during daylight hours. LOFR

The line may be rated at 60 lbs but my experience with them a fisty 20 lb or bigger cat will pull the guts and spring right out of them, lost a bunch of them like that one night.  LOFR

The line is rated at 60#, but Id call that hopeful.

According to the instructions, you can submerge them, like beneath a jug.
The spring and hardware is stainless.
I wouldn't be comfy doing it, but that's what it said.
And I plan to hang mine from branches using bailing wire.

It has a string you can tie on a limb but you may want to take a hammer and nails out with you to place a nail wher you can tie on the string ,just keep the spool out of the water. LOFR

You could screw them to a board, dock, even the side of a boat.
