For a Chicago area public lake, this lake is managed catch-and-release and it shows. Their fish appear healthy and twice the size of other local lakes which are not managed catch-and-release. Urban fishing success depends on keeping all fish in the ecosystem in tact. There must be some good predators such as bass and channel catfish in this lake
