Thanks Greg 4 of yours came up : I had to compress search words though :  Longearedsunfish

I wish everyone would tag their fish . When I'm particularly interested in a species it's great to be able to study the photos after a search.

Greg where you fish at to catch these?  Public or Private?

I have caught a few of these when I was a kid at Grand Lake, never liked to keep them to eat since they seemed so pretty.

I think the fight pretty good, and are fiesty in a home tank.  Fun to feed bugs to though.

(Lepomis megalotis)....what an outstanding specimen.  If you pull way back from your computer screen, the little red markings look like little tiny hearts.

This species, and the coppernose bluegill are on my bucket list....guess I'll have to travel south!
