Doesn't look like the Cottonmouths we have around here. I have to go with the Copperhead. Either way...he's got a problem.

Oh a Cotton mouth .We have Copperheads here in New Jersey that have very similar markings and color. Snakes , not the Bluegill species of Coppernose or Copper head.
Interestingly enough I've seen Copperhead snakes around boat launches.Wonder if they are eating small fish as fisherman often dispose of there unused bait there.That may attract them.

That is a young cotton mouth (lighter pattern than adults) eating an unidentified species of catfish, I stayed long enough to see that it somehow actually swallowed that thing.

the fish has had "it"... the snake's gotta problem........Next a blue heron will come by and slurp down both of em!....lol!
