I have had rattler and its awesome to eat but I cant imagine that any water snake would be. Probably very fishy tasting.YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT!!!
used to fish this little spot on a point well the snakes got wind of the fact I was using cut bait for cats and next thing I know I am surrounded.
Had to leave. There where 11 snakes by the time I got out of there.

Did you snap your line? I figure if you gave it a good rip - that snake would have been split open where that hook went in. You lost that crank bait?
