i caught these pair of cats on 2 lb test fishing with my micro system setup. caught two and my buddy caught one, all on crickets. after the rain we had these cats seemed to go a bit shallower. I'm not a wintertime catfisher but these fish were too shallow for winter in my opinion

ne ver heard of purginging catfish. The water i fish out of is crystal clear, you can see 17 feet deep maybe more. I do, in fact, change out the fishes water every 30 minutes or so to keep some clean water in there bucket

I have been eating channel cats all my life and I have never purged one of them. I think if I were to catch a fish from a body of water and it would taste bad right out of the gates, well, I just wouldn't eat fish from that water body.

Have you guys heard of purging catfish.?My nephew mentioned that in the boat yesterday.
He claims putting them in a bucket and changing the water several times before cleaning and eating them 'purges' them of bottom feeding undesireable taste.Sounds like it could be a wives tale but wonder if it does make a difference.
