ooh okay, that is a pretty fish! It almost sounds like Florida's equivalent to the texas trout aka Guadalupe bass

Mike's right it's a Suwannee Bass pound for pound the most Bad Ass Black Bass there is! Unfourtunatly their only found in the Santa Fe, Wacissa, Ichetucknee, St Marks, Ichetucknee, Aucilla and of course Suwannee rivers here in Florida. Very limited range and a very special fish they require moving clean clear water and have spectacular coloration. A really big one is only 16"s and a couple pounds but they are a absolute Blast on light tackle and especially a 3-5wt flyrod. This year I'm doing the Florida Black Bass Slam again except on flyrod only! This is the first of the fish I need a 14" Suwannee the others are Largemouth Bass, Shoal Bass and Spotted Bass all of which are native to Florida. I got them all last year on regular gear and had a wonderful time the flyrod makes it even more Fun!
