I head for the trees when it's just too hot for me out in the open. Hopefully the gills feel the same way. The water is around 3 ft deep and I usually find some nice gills scattered here and there. Tough fishing under limbs though. I started carrying a telescopic limb trimmer to get my line out of the trees. Never know what you'll come up on in there. Check out my Cypress Teddy Bear Photo. The cypress knees really grow the most obvious animals though you can only see them after the knee is harvested and debarked. That teddy bear is the best and most obvious I've ever come across on a tree. That alone makes being out fishing good for you in unexpected ways.
