Rainbow Trout from Chicago's Suburbs

Yes- the trout are in on opening day. Using the pellet method I have had success each opening day in the past 4 years at 3 different lakes near Chicago. Although these rainbows aren't gigantic - they are nice size for a meal. A 9-trout day on opening day and a 7 - trout day on day 2, we have plenty of fish between my son and I. Not a limit, but several fish were lost while we were learning.
I will get him to limit out yet. Also- on opening day we dealt with people moving closer to us and casting over our lines a couple of times. The spot I chose on day 2 - I would not return to. We were in water that was a bit more shallow than I would care to fish. I have a better spot for this April - can't wait TROUT TROUT TROUT!
