Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

A tenkara inspired fly.
Tied on a #16 Kahle hook, the severe bends make it look very "buggish."
It's tied 'gujo kebari' style, with stuff hackle like a dry fly. Yellow floss and some black and white highlights give it a somewhat different appearance.

You're too kind, John.
Nice thing about these simple tenkara flies: just a little attention to detail and they look good.
Makes me seem like I know what I'm doing! LOL

Thanks Carl.
Not firmly traditional, but follows the pattern.

Most successful top water fly? (Flies" would be more like it.)

Consistent Surface Flies for Bluegill

Feathered
1. Hewitt Neversink Skater
2. Darbee Mayfly two feather
3. Most dry trout flies

Foam patterns
1. Los Alamos/Chernobyl ant
#10-12
2. Disc Spider
3. Foam/rubber leg terrestrials

If you were going to make me choose just one, it would be the foam disc spider.
