No, but the cough drops helped me quit chewing tobacco, lol.  The lake I catch them on has a current in it. I target the muddy areas right after it transitions from rock or sand. Also along the banks where it is undercut around the current. I have caught bluegill with them but no crappie. I use worms and small dark colored jigs usually deep near the bottom but not always.

Very Nice!  Are sugar free cough drops your secret?  I am on a mission to ice some known big redear near home.  If you don't mind telling, what do you catch them on?  Do they frequent similar haunts that gills and crappie do?

I didn't get to weigh it. I didn't have anything to keep it in and no scale. There was a catch and release record of 12 inches on the lake so I went ahead and measured it (Conservatively 12.5") and let it go. The state catch and release record is 12.75" so I am looking for the 13 incher that I know is out there.  The one my daughter caught in my profile pic was 12.5" as well.
