Ramapo River Ramapo NY

An example of the 'Rusty Crayfish".Got skunked fishin a stretch for the first time . Fished midday. The section above the riffle was very muddy but in and below the flow over bedrock much clearer .Not even chub or sunfish let alone a smallmouth .Good food , small minnows, Sculpins and many Crayfish . Perhaps water is too low for smallies midday but I wonder if they come into this section at night or when the water is higher .
