Maybe I'm just losing my mind.

Yeah, John. Some of the WP's we used to catch would run 12+ inches, and a lot of them would get a little horizonatal red meat. It's just a sliver really, but it seemed to add a funny taste to the filet.....

Or am I thinking white bass??......

Any one notice the purple hue under the lower lip? I am gonna eat this fish tomorrow its thick and I 'll have it with a Crappie I kept that got the hook in the eye as well as mouth .Wont be a lot of a meal so I'll fill up on other stuff.

I've had some really tasty white perch before. I love 'em. On the bigger ones there's a little red strip that goes down the side, which I trim off.
